Poor front desk service

In general: The hotel is pretty with a small lobby. The rooms were very nice and large, once we were able to get to it. Location and surroundings: Very convenient. Service: After leaving southern Va. at 2am and arriving in Savannah, Ga. at 11am we were hopeful to be able to check in early. We were tired, hot and grumpy when we arrived, but were grateful to finally be at the hotel. Two ladies were at the front desk when I walked in. They did not speak to me. I started the conversation with hello, my name and offering my credit card. One of the girls looked at me and said, very simply, check in is not until 4:00pm. She offered no options and no apologies. After my husband and I found out from a nice porter outside that we could bring our luggage inside and park in the parking garage we did so and went into the lobby to consider our options. I considered looking into another hotel and breaking my reservation with B Historic, but I had missed the deadline to cancel. We went out to eat and walk around which brought us to 2:45pm. We were willing to wait until 4pm in the lobby because it was getting HOT and humid outside. While we waited in the lobby other people were experiencing the same treatment. At 3:15pm we were asked if we wanted to check-in. We jumped at the chance. The woman appeared to be the manager and we shared with her our experience. She empathized with us which made me feel better. The room was very nice and huge. The bed was comfortable. When we went downstairs to check out, the same young girl was behind the desk. I asked her a question and, again, I received a simple, "No". Although the hotel was nice, and the room comfortable, I would not stay there again because of the treatment of the young ladies at the front desk. For about $150 dollars a night, I expect MUCH better treatment by all the staff.
